Corporate Entertainment Houston: Five Scenes at the HoneyBook Member Awards

On September 16, 2026, HoneyBook brought its Member Awards to Houston for the first time, traveling the show to the winner’s home city instead of hosting it centrally. The night was built around five elemental scenes at Luxtrium Immersive Event Space, and it turned into a clear lesson in what corporate entertainment Houston audiences actually respond to.

The hardest room to read

For corporate entertainment Houston events, the guest list is often full of people who produce parties themselves. This one especially: roughly 150 guests, most of them working wedding and event professionals who attend receptions every weekend and have seen every standard move a DJ has.

Brooke at Cat Haus Collective set the creative direction. Give this audience an experience rather than a reception, organize the night around five elemental scenes, and make the honoree feel celebrated.

Five scenes, one arc

Rather than running five playlists end to end, DJ Stash curated each scene as part of a single rising arc.

Scene Moment Musical direction
Water Cocktail hour Atmospheric, low and open
Earth Dinner Grounded and warm, conversation carries
Air Networking Lighter and more social, energy rising
Fire Awards presentation Sharper and bolder, built around the honoree
Space Party Dance floor driven, closing on Houston artists

That arc is what strong corporate entertainment Houston nights need: room to climb, then a payoff. Water opens quiet so Fire has somewhere to build to, and Space lands hardest because the four scenes before it earned it.

Working with the venue’s AV team, not around it

Luxtrium runs an installed professional system, a Yamaha DM3 digital console with four channel wireless and house playback, operated by its own technician. At load-in the venue offered two positions: set up beside the AV team and run directly into house sound, or work from a separate spot over Bluetooth.

DJ Stash took the AV position. A hard line into house sound protects audio quality across a large room, and standing with the production team means cues get handled in person instead of by text during a live show. No reconfiguration of their system, no competing for the board.

That matters for anyone booking corporate events. Conference and hotel venues usually come with installed AV and a staff engineer, and the vendor who arrives ready to work with that team is the one who gets invited back.

When the plan changes mid-show

Two things moved after arrival. MC duty transferred during the event so the planner could stay focused on the rest of the production. Then the honoree restructured her speech around music: a walk-up song, a closing song, and specific songs cued at points inside the speech itself. No cue sheet, no signal from the stage, so the cues were run by ear off lines as they were spoken.

“I trust DJ Stash with all my heart. Something always changes at the last minute, and they handle every adjustment without missing a beat. That’s why DJ Stash is who I recommend.”

How the night landed

The awards presentation ran clean. Walk-up, in-speech cues, and closing song all hit where the honoree wanted them.

The room took longer, which is normal with an audience that watches a party before it joins one. The floor finally broke during Space, on the Houston records, as a dancing astronaut came through the crowd. The city the whole evening was built around is what moved it.

A single playlist would have run out of places to go by then. Scene-based curation is the difference.

Book DJ Stash

DJ Stash works both ways: owning the full production, as at the 1,600 guest TNLA convention reception in San Antonio, or integrating cleanly into a venue’s existing AV operation, as at HoneyBook.

If you are choosing a vendor for a social event instead, start with how to choose a wedding DJ in San Antonio.
